These are my go to websites that I use when booking my own travels. Booking your travels through these links is also a great way to support me! As they’re affiliate links, I may get a small commission at no additional cost to you (I use my own affiliate links when booking my own travels). I also recommend checking multiple sites to make sure you get the best deal as sometimes one website is better than another.
Find Flights
Skyscanner has always been my favorite website for booking flights! It is full of amazing tools such as the ability to search flights ‘everywhere’ to find the cheapest destination, or you can choose your destination and find the cheapest months/dates to travel.
Find Hotels
When I book hotels, I always check both agoda and booking.
Usually in Southeast Asia I find that agoda has cheaper prices. However, it’s easy to check either website then double check if the other website has a better price. Sometimes the price difference is really significant!
Find Transportation (Buses/Trains)
Whenever I need transportation (other than flights), I always check 12go! They have amazing deals in Southeast Asia (especially Thailand) and they’re always expanding into more countries.
12go is also great to find transportation to more difficult to reach places! For example when I went to Koh Chang, I booked my bus then ferry separately. It would’ve been much easier to use 12go as they have an option that combines both the bus and ferry so you don’t need to figure out any logistics on your own!
Find Tours
I don’t do tours often, however they can be extremely helpful if you don’t have a lot of time or if you’re in a more remote area. Also both of these websites have options for private tours!
Get Your Guide has tons of amazing tours all over the world!
Klook also has many groups tours, however I find them to be better in Asia. Klook is also amazing to find discount tickets to attractions that you are already planning on visiting!
Find Travel Insurance
Travel insurance is a must have when you’re traveling!! There are many cheap options which can be a lifesaver if something happens to you abroad!
SafetyWing is one of the most popular travel insurance companies! I personally used them for the first few years I was traveling. They have a cheap monthly price. The negatives of SafetyWing are that they don’t cover a lot of ‘extreme sports’ and they also don’t offer coverage for long if your home country is USA and you want to visit home.
Genki Insurance is my current travel insurance. I switched to Genki as they also have amazing reviews! While Genki is a little more expensive than SafetyWing, they offered longer coverage in my home country. Due to that I made the switch last year as I was visiting home for one full month and needed to be covered.
I think both of these insurance companies are great! Get a quote on both websites to see which option is better for you.
